Quran Ayatul Kursi – Beauty, Translation & Virtues Ayatul Kursi with Tajweed and Translation ﷽ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ ﴿٢٥٥﴾
✨ Fazilat of Ayatul Kursi (Quran & Hadith) Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi after every obligatory Salah, nothing prevents him from entering Jannah except death.” (Nasai) It is called the chief of all verses in the Quran. (Tirmidhi) It protects one from Shaitan and calamities when recited in morning & evening. (Bukhari, Muslim) Ali (RA) said: “I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: It is the master of all verses…” Allah – The verse begins with the majestic name of Allah, reminding us of the One who created and controls all things.Laa ilaaha illa Huwa – Declares Tawheed, the oneness of Allah, rejecting all false gods.This is the foundation of Islam and every form of worship revolves around this truth. Al-Hayy (The Ever-Living) – Allah is eternal, without beginning or end.He does not depend on food, sleep, or rest, unlike His creation. Al-Qayyoom (The Sustainer) – He maintains the entire universe with His power and will.Everything in the heavens and earth exists because He allows it to. This verse comforts the heart, reminding us that our Lord is always alive, watching, and sustaining.
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
Allah ﷻ is entirely unlike His creation—He never gets tired or sleepy. This ayah confirms His perfection: no fatigue, no need to rest. Whereas humans weaken and need sleep, Allah remains fully aware—always. Even a moment of inattention (like drowsiness) is impossible for Him. This gives peace to the believer: their Lord is constantly watching and protecting. Sleep is a sign of limitation. Allah is limitless and absolutely independent. Allah’s vigilance and control over the universe never pause—not for a blink. Trust in Allah grows when one realizes that His care is constant and eternal. This ayah highlights the complete ownership of Allah over all creation. Everything in the skies and the earth belongs solely to Him. No creature, object, or force is independent—each is under His command. This statement humbles us and removes arrogance from our hearts. It reminds us that all blessings, wealth, and power are from Allah. He is the true King, and nothing escapes His knowledge or control. This verse builds our trust and reliance on Him alone. It teaches that surrendering to Allah is not weakness, but true wisdom. This ayah declares Allah’s absolute authority over all intercession. No Prophet, angel, or wali can intercede without His permission. Even on the Day of Judgement, intercession is allowed only by His will. It emphasizes that Allah is not pressured or influenced by anyone. We should seek nearness to Allah directly with sincerity and hope. This ayah raises the value of seeking Allah’s pleasure in all deeds. It shatters false beliefs about others having power without Allah’s leave. True success lies in earning Allah’s mercy and approval for salvation. Allah’s knowledge is complete — past, present, and future. He sees what is happening now and knows what is to come. Nothing is hidden from Him, even what is inside our hearts. This ayah invites us to have full trust in His plan. We cannot hide sins or secrets — He is fully aware. He knows the plans of people and the tricks of shaytaan. Even what we forget, Allah remembers and records it. This belief strengthens our sincerity and sense of accountability. Humans have very limited knowledge — only what Allah allows. Even the greatest scholars and scientists know only a fraction. Allah’s wisdom is infinite; ours is granted temporarily and partially. This ayah humbles our ego and reminds us of our dependency on Him. It teaches us to seek knowledge with sincerity and du‘a. True understanding of deen also comes by His permission. No one can challenge His knowledge or learn except with His will. This ayah is a door to spiritual humility and intellectual submission. Kursi means “seat” or “domain of authority” — not the Throne (Arsh), but lower. It shows Allah’s vast knowledge and power extending beyond our imagination. He is not just the Creator, but the Controller of every corner of the universe. The vastness of the Kursi reflects Allah’s might and limitless reach. No place, sky, or galaxy is outside His rule or beyond His notice. It builds awe in our hearts — how small we are, how Great He is! This part boosts our trust in His divine control over all matters. We belong to a Lord whose authority spans the skies and the earth completely. Guarding the heavens and earth is effortless for Him — SubhanAllah! Unlike humans who tire and need rest, Allah never weakens or sleeps. He protects all creation with ease, mercy, and unmatched control. Even the smallest ant and the largest star are under His perfect watch. “Al-Aliyy” — the Most High: His status, His honor, His power are supreme. “Al-Azeem” — the Most Great: nothing is greater than Him in any aspect. These final words wrap Ayatul Kursi with majesty, power, and reassurance. Trust in Him — your Guardian is the Highest and the Greatest. Always.
