Palestine: The Land That Bleeds Yet Refuses to Die

Introduction: Palestine – A Blessed Land Torn by Pain

Palestine is a land kissed by Prophets’ footsteps and honoured by Allah in the Quran. Believers have loved it for centuries. Yet, today it stands soaked in blood and tears while the world continues, unmoved. How did we reach a day when Gaza’s cries fail to awaken our sleeping hearts?

Throughout history, this land has been a cradle of civilisations. Prophets walked its streets, and Masjid Al-Aqsa stood as a beacon of divine light. People from around the world came to witness its beauty and blessings. Sadly, it now stands witness to oppression, injustice, and genocide.

Gaza: Where Innocence is Buried Under Rubble

Gaza is more than just a name. Over two million souls live in this tiny strip, half of them children, trapped under a blockade that chokes every breath of life. Clean water is rare. Electricity visits for mere hours. Bombs rain down, destroying homes, schools, hospitals, and dreams.

Picture your child going to sleep tonight, unaware if they will wake up tomorrow. Imagine a mother cooking rice with trembling hands as drones hum above. Visualise an elderly man whispering Quranic verses in darkness while bombs explode nearby, knowing death may arrive before dawn.

Children in Gaza write their names on their arms. Not for school attendance, but so their bodies can be identified when pulled from rubble. Is this not enough to shatter our hearts?

Masjid Al-Aqsa: Our First Qibla, Our Test of Imaan

At the heart of Palestine stands Masjid Al-Aqsa, where Allah gathered all Prophets behind Muhammad ﷺ on Isra wal Miraj. The Quran honours it:

“Glory be to Him Who took His servant by night from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed…” (Quran 17:1)

One prayer here equals 500 prayers elsewhere. It is not just a mosque; it is a divine trust upon the Ummah. Protecting it is not politics. Rather, it is a test of our faith.

Daily, its sanctity is violated. Settlers storm courtyards under armed protection. Women are beaten while praying. Young men are arrested for reciting Quran aloud. If Al-Aqsa falls, what will remain of our dignity as an Ummah?

The Human Stories Behind Numbers

Media reports “thousands dead” as if these were mere statistics. Behind every number lies a universe of dreams and love.

Ahmad, aged five, loved green kites. Rania, aged ten, memorised Surah Yaseen to recite each morning. Maryam, aged three, smiled every time she heard the Adhan. Each had a story. Each was a world to someone.

Recently, a father carried his baby daughter’s remains in a plastic bag because there was nothing left to hold. A mother washed her son’s shattered body with shaking hands, whispering, “Forgive me for not protecting you.” An elderly man sat among rubble, praying Allah grants him death with dignity before the enemy does.

What Does Israel Want?

Israel seeks a Palestine without Palestinians. It wants olive trees without Palestinian farmers. Masjid Al-Aqsa without the Adhan echoing from its minarets. Expansion without resistance.

Since October 2023 alone, over 38,000 Palestinians have been martyred. Homes became graveyards. Entire families erased from civil records. Hospitals bombed. Schools targeted. Ambulances destroyed. Still, Gaza stands defiant, declaring, “We will not leave. This is our land, our dignity, our Jannah or Shahadah.”

Our Silence: The Betrayal That Breaks The Sky

Meanwhile, what about us? We continue our lives comfortably. We scroll reels while children scream for help. Chai warms our hands as we read their stories, then move to recipes and reels. Tears fall for celebrities but remain absent for thousands buried under rubble.

Indeed, Allah tests each nation differently. They are tested with bombs and starvation. We are tested with comforts that numb hearts. If Rasulullah ﷺ were here today, would he recognise us as his Ummah?

What Can We Do?

Many ask, “What can we do from here?” The answer is – so much.

  1. Dua: Raise your hands daily. Between every Salah, whisper for Gaza. At Tahajjud, mention them by name with tears. Teach your children to pray for Palestine with their innocent tongues. Allah hears them.
  2. Boycott: Every coin spent on Israeli products funds bullets that kill children. Check boycott lists here. Stand firm in sacrifice.
  3. Raise Awareness: Speak up fearlessly. Use your social media platforms. Write posts, create reels, design art, and share real stories. Keep Palestine alive in every heart that follows you.
  4. Donate: Even small donations feed hungry children or buy medicine for the wounded. Support trusted charities working inside Gaza.
  5. Reflect: Ask yourself daily: What answer will I give Allah when He asks about the oppressed I ignored?

Palestine: The Land of Sabrun Jameel and Shahadah

Despite the darkness, Gaza remains the land of unwavering faith. Children smile while walking barefoot among ruins. Mothers whisper “Alhamdulillah” even while burying their children. Fathers tell sons, “Be strong, my lion. If I die, protect your mother. Never bow to oppressors.”

Interestingly, Palestinians pray for us too. They ask Allah to forgive our silence and awaken our hearts before it is too late. They pray for unity and victory for the Ummah.

A Dua for Gaza

Ya Allah, protect the people of Gaza. Grant them strength that humbles oppressors. Heal their wounded with Your mercy. Accept their martyrs and grant them Jannatul Firdaus. Humiliate tyrants who spill innocent blood. Liberate Masjid Al-Aqsa with dignity and honour. Unite this Ummah upon truth. Do not test us with what they endure. Save us from being among silent hypocrites. Ameen.

Final Reflection: If Not You, Then Who?

Today, you have a choice. You can scroll past these words and continue your life. Alternatively, you can pause, change your heart forever, and become their voice, their dua, and their shield.

Tomorrow, when Gaza’s martyrs stand before Allah glowing with noor, will you stand among those who supported them with tears, prayers, and sacrifice? Or will you hide your face in shame, knowing you chose comfort over courage?

Palestine lives within us. Let us keep it alive in actions, voices, and sacrifices – until justice descends from the heavens and the earth breathes peace once again.

May Allah awaken our hearts before He awakens us with trials. Ameen.
